I had been here once before and had a asada burrito (el burro) and was not disappointed. I was in the area and stopped by for breakfast and had a Chile Verde Ranchero. This is one of the best Chile verde I have had. The flavor, the heat and ingredients were “spot on”. If you like Chile verde you will not be disappointed! A must visit . The service was great and the homemade salsa were spectacular. Great home made tortillas!

My family, friends and I love this nice little hole in the wall. If you are looking for excellent authentic Mexican cuisine this is definitely in my top 3. We come here often for a nice weekend lunch or dinner for various entree items. There isn’t anything on the menu that we haven’t said we wouldn’t get again. We love going for their taco Tuesday’s, my favorite meats are their pollo, carnitas, chorizo and chile verde. I also love their chile relleno taco grande. My partner’s favorite is the al pastor because they make it with a sweet savory twist which makes it delightfully different. The chilaquiles are also so yummy. You can choose red or green and we went with green, their chips and salsa are made in house and do not disappoint. The fat burrito special is also one of my favorites. Their portions are just the perfect amount and the price is competitive. The staff are all also so friendly and the cooks. Always hats off to the kitchen crew.

However, depending on the time of day, parking availability may be limited due to neighboring businesses sharing the same area. The lot is accessible and convenient for guests. ⸻ Service Experience Upon arrival, auditors were able to order and pay at the front counter, a setup that promotes efficiency and allows for a quick exit after dining. However, this arrangement can make tipping difficult to assess upfront, as guests are asked to decide before experiencing the full extent of service. Auditors observed no employee name tags, nor were staff names introduced voluntarily. However, after engaging with the primary staff member (identified as Clara), auditors noted her outstanding professionalism, courteousness, and genuine hospitality—qualities that greatly enhanced the experience. Her interactions with both auditors and nearby customers were consistently pleasant, making her a clear standout in the service category. Fresh, warm tortilla chips were served within minutes of ordering, creating a welcoming start to the meal. Orders were placed at 3:25 p.m., and food arrived promptly at 3:37 p.m., reflecting excellent kitchen efficiency. ⸻ Food Quality & Presentation The food quality was rated as exceptional by all auditors. Meals were served hot, fresh, and flavorful, and the homemade tortillas were particularly praised for their authenticity and taste. Portion sizes were generous, and presentation was appealing. The salsa bar was clean, well-organized, and maintained at a proper cold temperature, ensuring food safety and freshness. However, auditors did observe a chef handling food without gloves, which raises a food safety concern. While glove use is not legally required in all instances if proper handwashing procedures are followed, the absence of visible hygiene protocols can create negative public perception and should be addressed for best practices. Additionally, no visible health grade was posted anywhere in the dining area, which is a California state requirement and must be corrected to maintain compliance. ⸻ Facility Conditions The establishment has two unisex restrooms. • Restroom #1: Appeared clean and organized upon entry. All supplies were stocked, including toilet paper, soap, paper towels, and seat covers. Trash bins were nearly full, and walls showed visible buildup and could benefit from a deep cleaning and repainting. Running hot water was available, meeting health standards. • Restroom #2: Showed moderate cleanliness, though the floor was noticeably dirty. Trash bins were half full, and all supplies were stocked except for seat covers, with only one remaining. Hot water was functional. Both restrooms met basic sanitary standards but would benefit from more frequent maintenance checks throughout the day. De La Cruz Authentic Mexican Cuisine demonstrates strong potential and operational efficiency, supported by excellent food quality and standout staff members such as Clara, whose professionalism left a lasting positive impression.
