We love to take our family to Ernie's. Our grandaughter is treated like a little princess by the staff. They provide everything from coloring activity sheets to high chairs. Everyone from the hostess to the servers to the bartender is really kind and attentive . It has great food, a beautiful atmosphere, and wonderful people. We are so happy our son and daughter in law found it. It's just always a fun time when we go.

Being located in California,I expected better. Being in North Hollywood, I shouldn’t have expected so much.
The atmosphere was good even though I was the only Mexican eating there. Plus the random mish-mash played by the guitarist was kinda goofy…. Imagine a flamenco guitarist playing random movie themes and reggae. So let’s put the square pegs in the round holes now!
The food was ok but a bit salty. The aguas frescas sucked. My hibiscus tea (agua de jamaica) was very watered down and my wife’s agua de tamarindo was absolutely disgusting. Tasted like ocean water with apple juice. Plus, if you ask for no ice in your drinks they serve you in smaller glasses. Not impressed. Not coming back. Idaho has better Mexican food. Yes, I said Idaho.

If you’ve never been to Ernie’s, you’re missing out on a great experience. This restaurant has a great ambience with a low-lit dining area featuring comfy booths and table to accommodate bigger groups. Depending on when you go there is live music to accompany your dining experience. The staff is very attentive, polite and professional. The food is top notch, authentic Mexican dining at its best. My favorite—the Skylab Burrito. It’s the size of a small vehicle. It’s delivered to your table on a piping hot plate and then you realize how much food you have sitting in front of you. I feel like I was doing a good competition. 72oz steak?? Nah, this is like a 2lb burrito, I dunno, it’s a lot. It’s a great wet burrito. I do shredded chicken, and each bite is pure bliss. I won’t have to eat for the next few days after finishing that. Go get you one. You’ll thank me later.

Amazing authentic mexican food. Not too spicy, not too tangy, it was extremely satisfying to come and get a taste. Our family was about 11 in size and were easily accommodated on New Year’s Eve. 5 stars all around.

Ernie's is amazing! Chef G took me here because his family had been coming for 3 generations. I now have a rule...if I need authentic Mexican food and Chef G doesn't feel like making it, Ernie's is the ONLY place I have found that I truly love! Plus... the atmosphere and margaritas make it an amazing place to wind down and have an amazing meal. The skylab burrito (get the pork & green sauce!) Is amazing and so huge I can eat it for 3 days! Their combos and flautas, chili Verde and more are all fantastic!

Believe it or not I first ate in this restaurant with my mom in the 1950’s. The food and service is still excellent. Their hard shell chicken tacos are the best I’ve ever had. This past Sunday night they had very good live entertainment too.

I stopped in Ernie's around 5:30 bc I was killing time before seeing Pulitzer Prize Winning play Rabbit Hole at Playhouse West @7pm, 10/19/24, 6 minutes walking distance south of this restaurant.
Sat at the bar and ordered a drink: $19.50!
Yikes! NY prices! Whatever happened to happy hour?!😆 The margarita was very good though.🤷
However, there was a guy absolutely playing beautiful guitar. I wish I could've stayed to listen bc it was really lovely, but I don't know the area so I didn't want to walk back when it was getting dark.
Food smelled delicious and the staff in the restaurant was very friendly.
I would check it out if I was in the neighborhood again.
Seems like a nice place.😊
