I highly recommend Dr. Bruce Shannahoff. I never realized how awful spinal pain can be. It effects every aspect of your life – physically, mentally and emotionally. I saw my work slipping, my putting off handling mundane things, not exercising and spending a lot of time in bed. I’d tried physical therapy at 3 different places, injections, and anything else my doctor and I could think of. I was walking with a cane- which didn’t alleviate the pain. Neither did 4 Motrin every 4 hours. The MRI revealed that my severely herniated lumbar L5/S1 disc was pressing on my nerve. It was time to take more serious action. As a former Registered Nurse – I knew where to look. So, after much research, including a visit to a neurosurgeon, I opted for spinal decompression with the DRX9000. But I had to find the right chiropractic doctor, who was trained on the complicated machine, really wanted to see me cured, and knew how to work the system to benefit each individual patient. Surprise! – there aren’t that many, especially since I live in Oregon. I decided to travel to Los Angeles to work with Dr. Bruce Shannahoff. He not only explained what to expect, how it works and how he can target the affected area – he also was willing to accommodate that since I had to travel, he’d need to achieve results for me in only one month. IT WORKED! I no longer have pain – just some aches occasionally. So down from a 10+ pain level to 0-1. It’s no longer constant – down from 80-100% of the time to 0-5%. I can walk without a cane with no pain. And, suddenly, I can get back to focusing on my work and my handling routine activities, volunteer work at the art museum. I had been having a lot of pain in my neck and lower back when I went to Dr. Shannahoff. Since being in the treatment, I have experienced real relief. Dr. Shannahoff is a perfect example of integrity and care.  After being for many years under the care of a naturopathic medical doctor (and working for him) and a chiropractor in Florida treating me for the same condition - there is such a huge contrast in the quality of the treatment and the doctor/patient relationship!!!! and  I am so thankful for having the contrasting experience!!!  The difference in the relationship between Dr. Shannahoff and my other doctors?  I trust his judgement while I question theirs.  I believe it is that underlying lack of integrity and indifference to the welfare of the patient so rampant in the doctor/patient relationship of today - that a patient "feels" and fosters mistrust of the doctor.  Again, Dr. Shannahoff, thank you for being such a caring and trustworthy doctor.

I developed an 8mm cervical disc herniation earlier in the year. The pain was debilitating. Upon analysis of my MRI results all surgeons and 2 chiropractors highly recommended surgery to repair the disc. A believer in alternative methods of health I researched spinal decompression and came across Dr. Shannahoff. I called him immediately and was met with a level of expertise that I hadn’t received anywhere else. His level of understanding of discs, their ability to heal and the decompression method was completely unmatched. I signed up 1 week later, and from that point forward Dr Bruce spent every day for 4 months healing my disc and eliminating the pain I had been living with for nearly 4 months. Dr Bruce’s office is where I went to heal. Evidence of that can be seen in my story and the 10 other patients I saw graduating from their sessions with tears of gratitude. Im forever grateful to him and his practice, and feel lucky to have found someone so dedicated to others’ well being. If you’re worried like I was, I hope you find this review and realize that you can heal. There are people like Dr Bruce out there who will get you there.

Dr. Shanahoff was highly recommended by a co-worker. When I started treatment in January, I could not get from my car to his office without stopping every ten steps crying from pain. I was convinced I needed surgery. I am now walking miles and keeping up with my activities and daily work. Dr. Shanahoff will not quit on you! He is amazing.

I visited Dr. Shannahoff’s office because my right arm became dysfunctional due to ‘Carpal tunnel syndrome’ which was consequence of computer work I do. Dr. Shannahoff been able to return absolutely normal functionality to my arm. It is just amazing! He is tremendously knowledgeable, professional and kind with passion to heal every patient. Dr. Shannahoff is absolutely amazing! Beyond being funny and personable, his chiropractic work is on point and I have made significant improvements to my health through the treatment I have received in his office. My insurance doesn't cover chiropractic care but regardless, it was worth every penny to be healthy and pain free. I highly recommend Dr. Shannahoff's office to anyone in pain or discomfort. Best of all, they bake fresh cookies in their office. Talk about top-notch care :)

Dr Shannahoff Is a very caring and patient professional . I was trying to choose a spinal decompression doctor that could help me. When I came in for a consultation I was convinced that he could help me with the pain I had from a herniated disk. It took only a few visits to feel that the pain fading away.I came in on crutches and by the second week I was getting better. By the 15th visit the pain was gone 90% gone and by 10 weeks there is no pain. I am so grateful to have found Dr Shannahoff and this therapy.I can recommend him to anyone who is suffering from disc problems and as an alternative to surgery. This process will let the body heal itself. Dr. Shannahoff is extremely knowledgeable in the field of spine health and how it relates to pain and overall health. I was being treated for spinal pain after some past injuries and following spinal surgery. I have experienced some measurable relief from my pain and am able to have a greater degree of functionality. I wish I had skipped the disk surgery and gone directly to Bruce for my pain relief. I am an active person and former competitive cyclist; Dr. Shannahoff has a great wealth of experience in dealing with injuries to the spine and understood my desire to be active as he is an accomplished chiropractor and cyclist.
