I love this restaurant. I've had the shrimp poboy and the BLT. both were excellent. Both were excellent. The bacon in the BLT was 1/4 inch thick, the tomato (heirloom? Maybe) was succulent and the sourdough bread was baked next door at a great little boutique bakery. The poboy was really good, but it had large shrimp. Growing up, my best friend was from Louisiana. His mom made poboys with small shrimp. I like that better. They have an excellent selection of seasonal beers and their wine list, though not deep, is above average.

Jasmine was a wonderful host for a our quick lunch at Shady Grove. The food and general vibes were great! I highly recommend the shrimp po boy, or anything else that features bread from next door. Can’t wait to come back to this truly local spot!

We came before any dinner crowd showed up, & it was perfect. The weather was great, the food was piping hot & delicious, & we got 5 star service from the waitress whose name I forgot, but had a total "Zendaya" vibe going. When you go there, you'll know exactly who it is! Next time I'm in the area, this place is definitely a whistle stop!

What an awesome experience here in long beach. When this restaurant opened we knew it would totally our vibe. We walked past this place many times without going inside because we knew it would be an ordeal getting the amount of meat.
We finally had a dry weekend with sun and decided to check out their backyard dining area and bbq. We were suprised and delighted by how good this food was. We started by sharing the bacon, which was tender, juicy, smokey, and extra bacony.
We then had the chicken dinner and rib dinner. The meat, as expected, top notch. Super tender, chicken crispy, and especially flavorful. I recommend trying their bbq sauce too. However the true highlights were the rice and beans! Those sides were incredibly tender and flavorful. Super soft rice and meaty beans. Who is to complain about that.
Highly recommend checking this place out. 🫡

As a displaced southerner, this was a charming place. Atmosphere, beer, and food were great: pictured is the pulled pork. Pork was splendidly done, the Virginian in me wanted to whine about tomato in the sauce, but it was perfectly spicy and vinegary. Real good and a stunning amount of food (probably like 2 pounds of pork and slaw on that brioche)

What a fabulous place! You walk in and it seems small but welcoming. And then you get invited to sit in the large back patio. We chose a spot next to the heater. The food is absolutely delicious. This place does meat so well, even the fried chicken was off the bone tender! A meat lovers paradise! Good home cooking and perfect for kicking back a good local brew!

Came here for brunch and was blown away! The patio out back has such a relaxed vibe. The food was amazing. I had eggs, hobo beans, homemade bread, rosemary potatoes and watermelon! Great staff and friendly atmosphere. We’ll be back next weekend!

Shady Grove is a fantastic addition to our neighborhood.
The first time I stopped there, I got St. Louis Ribs and my husband got the shrimp Po-Boy. Both were great.
Last night, I got the Baby-back Ribs and he got the Po-Boy again.
Top Notch
We started with the Red and Bread as an appetizer. Great for 2 people. I got the Bourbon Bacon as an appetizer as well, and will again.
Looking forward to trying another selection from the menu next month.
Great selection of Beers, too!
Highly recommended.

I very much enjoyed the food here. We started with the loaded Michelada which came with butter soaked shrimp, three gigantic jalapeno stuffed olives and a thick piece of bacon. I followed that up with the ribs and was not disappointed. The flavors popped and the pineapple salsa was a perfect touch. I will say the ambiance is not ideal. There were flies buzzing around and I sat with a view of the storage room. The service was slow since they were busy but well worth the wait.

Excellent B.B.Q! They get their bread from Gusto next door so that elevates it even more. Love the potatoes that are cooked nice and crispy and the thick slices of bacon are killer! Every dish is seasoned well and the ingredients are fresh.
