My mom & I love this place! Always a must when visiting family in Ventura. Chicken Walnut salad & sandwich is our go to! Bakery items are amazing as well.

UPDATE: The bakery has new owners but they are keeping the yumminess that has made Royal the much loved bakery it has always been. (The Brie Sammie is still amazing.) I think there would be a citywide revolt if Cow Cookies ever went away. They have also added their own signature items to the menu which I can't wait to try. Oscar is missed, but I think he left the shop in good hands.

Having said that...lol....Been getting my cakes and pastries here for years. They have the best variety. The white cake with raspberry filling is to die for. So is the fruit tart. The meat filled croissants are yum. Lunches are great too. The brie sandwich is amazing, and you can't go wrong with the Quiche of the day--any day.
