I mostly sew but I still yarnify! is in the neighborhood and I still enjoy stopping in. The staff is really friendly and have been good at helping me pick out gifts for friends and relatives who knit or crochet. Stock wise, you'll find a nice mix of basics and indie dyers. They have a small but interesting stock of buttons, which I really appreciate because I never remember to pick up buttons when I'm planning my sewing projects.

The shop is neatly organized and well stocked. There are very friendly, helpful and informative staff. I'm glad they have in store shopping during these COVID times. I have recently taken to using wool yarn and would prefer to see the yarn in person when I shop. Their operating hours are great and no need to set-up an appointment (for now... this may change in the future so please call them before you visit). They have hand sanitizer by the entrance :)

Biggest yarn store in Chicago that I've visited. The people were really nice and they had a large book selection. Also a bunch of roving and hand spinning equipment.

The people there are super friendly and respectful of your space. There's a super wide variety and excellent organization. I was surprised to find free knitting books but I'm equally pleased with that one as the one I bought.
It is also LGBTQ+ friendly (see the flag pins made by someone who works there), if that's a concern for you.

This is such a great place! Heads up, they are offering curbside pickup and individual shopping time slots during social distancing. I went today (after calling ahead to book a spot) and as always, the woman there was helpful, accommodating, and just so kind. Super happy to give them business.

I called this store to help me look for a really tiny crochet needle. They didn't have it, but they were so kind and helpful on the phone!
