Fun Fact!! Out of ALL the 10's of 1000's of badges made by Sun in their history, I have THE most famous one of all. Steve McGarrett's prop badge from Hawaii 5 0, made in 1974 after a request from CBS & Jack Lord. (That's right! For the first 6 years of the series, NObody had badges!) After Jack's wife Marie passed in 2005, there was an estate auction in 2006, and along with some other items, like a show-worn suit, and some of his personal papers, I got his badge from the show. After a while, I thought it would be nice to get a case for it made, and after seeing the Sun Badge Co. stamp on the back of the badge, decided to see if they were still around, & they were! When I reached out to them to ask for this custom cover, they said no, that they only do official Law Enforcement work. I then told them that out of ALL the 100's of 1000's of badges they've made as a company, only ONE was world famous, and I had it! I sent pics of the badge, showing their company stamp on the back, and then they had a big change of heart. They made this really nice black leather holder AND stamped their logo into it at my request, so the badge & holder matched. It was a pretty cool experience, & Sun was very gracious in making this wonderful badge case for me.
